On Personalizing JuNoWriMo

Today is the first day of June, which also means that today marks the first day of JuNoWriMo!

JuNoWriMo, or June Novel Writing Month, is an event unaffiliated with NaNoWriMo, but certainly inspired by it. The goal is to write 50,000 words in the month of June.

I have never participated in it, and I will not be participating in it this year in the traditional sense. I have three projects I’ve been working on – my goal this month will not be to write 50,000 words, but rather, to work on one of these projects every day in hopes of finishing two of them by the end of the month, which will then mark the beginning of the July session of Camp NaNoWriMo.

Even though I won’t partake traditionally, I signed up for the JuNoWriMo newsletter as a way to keep the event in the back of my mind throughout the month. I love what these events do, and I’m happy to keep it in mind as I work on my projects.

Happy writing!
