Book Review: Has a Frog a Soul? by Thomas H. Huxley

Rating: Three out of five stars

16050366This essay brings to mind the quote from MythBusters: “The only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down.”

Huxley performed multiple experiments on frogs, and cited an essay on experiments done on a kitten. Huxley details these vivid experiments. As an animal lover, this audiobook was hard to listen to, though the effects of the experiments were interesting in how they related to each other.

Ultimately, there is no conclusion to where the soul actually is. This amounts to nothing more than science trying to prove religion, which is shaky ground at best. This lack of conclusion tells me that this essay is scientific only because it was written down.

Note: This audiobook can be found on LibriVox. It is 16 minutes.
